Wearable Oddities

Finely handcrafted jewelry pieces made from bugs, bones, and peculiar artifacts. All specimens used are cruelty free, and have not been harmed by the human hand.

Specimens have been professionally beetle cleaned continuing the natural life cycle before they come into my hands, at which time I give them an eternal life as a beautiful piece of jewelry.

About Death Couture

Death Couture is a branch off of  Mechanique Steampunk. All of our designs are handcrafted using only the best hand selected materials. We pride our selves at shopping local, and supporting other small businesses.

                                             ***ALL SUPPLIES BOUGHT IN USA***

We do not believe in buying supplies from over seas. Especially given the type of work that we do. We know exactly where all of our bones & specimens come from.

Meet The Owner

Megg Morbid the Owner / Designer has always had huge love for the arts. Greatly influenced by her beloved Nan (Maryann Calvert) who was an art teacher that taught her to be who she wanted to be and to never give up on her dreams.

Since a young age Megg has always appreciated the darker side of things. Seeing the light through the darkness and finding beauty in everything others may find to be odd. Megg enjoys working with bones and the like. She feels as though she is giving each individual  piece an eternal life as a piece of art.

Megg originally started making jewelry that was Victorian and Steampunk influenced. She then realized her dream of getting her wares on rock stars. In January 2012, Megg was fortunate enough to make a connection with one of her heroes, Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil. Cristina being sweet and humble, accepted one of Meggs steampunk creations as a gift. Luckily for Megg it happened to match Cristina's outfit that she wore for the encore each night.

Megg and Cristina ended up forming a friendship, and Megg continued to make Cristina special pieces for each time she was in town on tour. January of 2013 Megg got a request for something she had never done before... A REAL SKULL.  Megg always lived by the saying "If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you're not sure you can do it- Say yes and learn how to do it later." So she did, and from that came the birth of Death Couture!!!
